Returning to the Homeland, Mulyawati Farnell Brings Home Outstanding Achievements from the Heart of the Hollywood Industry
JAKARTA, October 31, 2026
Proud news has once again come from the international stage. Mulyawati Farnell, an Indonesian media professional and photographer who has built her career in the United States, arrived in Jakarta in late October 2026. Her return this time marks a special moment, following her success in winning the prestigious Health4Peace Award in West Hollywood, California.
In an exclusive interview with media representatives, Mulyawati shared that her return was driven by a deep longing for her family, friends, as well as the rich culinary heritage and culture of the archipelago.
Despite having built a career and lived in the United States for a long time, the woman warmly known as Mulya emphasized that she has never forgotten her roots. “My citizenship status remains an Indonesian citizen (WNI). I deeply love my homeland and am always proud to represent Indonesia on the global stage,” she said.
Breaking into the highly competitive entertainment and media industry in a global center like Hollywood was no instant journey. Mulya shared an inspiring story of her struggles starting her career from scratch. She spent two years as a volunteer at various celebrity events to build her network and prove her capability in photography.
Her perseverance and hard work eventually paid off. Her name gained recognition, earning appreciation from prominent figures, including former U.S. President Barack Obama, elected officials, and the Los Angeles City Government.
“I tried to become part of Hollywood, and it turned out to be worth it. All the struggles paid off completely,” Mulya expressed with gratitude.
Behind her success in media and photography, Mulya also possesses a strong humanitarian spirit. The Health4Peace Award she recently received serves as recognition for her dedication to humanitarian causes. In the U.S., she has been actively involved in various social initiatives without expecting anything in return—ranging from distributing meals to the homeless during Thanksgiving celebrations, supporting social missions, to dedicating her time to entertaining and assisting underprivileged children in children’s hospitals.
Closing the conversation, Mulyawati offered a special message for the younger generation of Indonesia who are currently living abroad or building their careers.
“To the younger generation, I encourage you to always maintain a strong fighting spirit and stay dedicated to your careers. Never give up easily. Furthermore, keep strengthening unity and solidarity among one another. We must support each other, not pull each other down,” Mulyawati concluded.
Mulyawati Farnell’s return this time is not only a moment of reunion, but also tangible proof that dedication, hard work, and a genuine heart for doing good can bring pride to Indonesia in the eyes of the world.
